Doesn't provide much padding. My knees hurt when I kneel on this (it's on our hardwood floors), but thankfully babies have cartilage instead of bone on their knees. The mat is cute and almost a perfect size for what we needed. The foam tiles we had before were more comfy, but such a pain to keep together and clean.It's really a decent size for 3-year-old to play with and it does not slide away. Its not thick but it'd enough that knees won't hurt. Soft material and machine-washable were my biggest concerns and this was a really good purchase.Purchased this mat for my 6 month old nephew. My sister in-law and I really like this mat, a place for my nephew to learn to crawl and play. Has the skid proof backing and you can just scoop it up with his toys still on there if you like.Very soft and easily wipes clean.Exactly as described
